Over the last decade many have been promoting that muffins are healthier than Cupcakes. This great debate has frustrated thousands with no real answers. There are many reasons that muffins are more beneficial than cupcakes but these are only true when they come from your own kitchen. Why? Because over the last decade many brand companies have added unhealthy ingredients to our muffins making them increasingly harmful.
Now if you are person who likes to eat muffins daily for breakfast over the years it may do more harm than good unless you know what has gone in to your muffins. The many store bought products have ingredients added to preserve the product, or increase the products shelf life which may not be included or are included and we don’t know what it does.
Those of us who are trying to add more fruit or veggies in our diet may like various homemade muffins to simply increase our daily intake. Blueberries, strawberries, carrots, and bananas are just of the few healthy and beneficial ingredients that you can add to your muffins to get the best out of your breakfast experience.
If you have a family who doesn’t eat a lot of fruits or veggies this would be a great morning treat to help improve their overall health. However understanding what you are eating should be top priority and what better way to do that but to make it yourself? In prepared foods you are always taking a chance in what you are eating. With the increased amounts of processed foods and processed fats that are put in our shelved foods muffins and cupcakes have been put up there with chips. But you don’t have to leave them there. Think about what you want to add to your families diet, create a new recipe or find a classic and make the muffins, and cupcakes for yourself. Your family will be glad you did!
