Yummy red velvet cupcake recipe!




  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. red food coloring



Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.  Sift ingredients together.  Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.  Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg.  Add one-quarter of the dry ingredients to creamed mixture, then one-quarter of the milk alternating mixing well between additions. Mix in vanilla and food coloring. Fill cupcake liners half full of red velvet cupcake batter.  Bake in a preheated 350degrees F. oven for approximately 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool cupcakes in pans for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool completely before frosting, as desired.
