In this cupcake recipe we use red, blue, green and yellow food coloring.



  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • red, blue, green and yellow food coloring




Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line two 12 cup muffin pans with paper liners. In a large bowl stir together the dry ingredients. In another bowl, whisk the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla together in a separate bowl until blended. Set aside. Beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer in a bowl until light and fluffy and then add eggs one at a time. Add in the flour and milk mixtures alternately until blended. Divide the cake batter into four different bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring in bowls of batter and stir until you reach the color you like. Using a different spoon for each color batter, spoon a small spoonful of each color into each cupcake liner until half full. Do not mix batter together once it is in the cups so the separate colors come out when done. Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Cool.
