Time for these applesauce cupcakes!




  • 1 ¼ cups flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. allspice
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1 cup raisins



Coat raisins with 1 TBSP. flour and set aside. Mixture together the remaining flour and all other dry ingredients. Cream shortening and gradually add brown sugar, creaming well until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat together well. Add the dry ingredients alternately with applesauce, a little at a time, beating until smooth. Stir in coated raisins. Spoon batter into cupcake cups. Bake at 350degrees F for 20 – 25 minutes. Cool cupcakes and frost as desired.
